Explorers: Wetland Discovery

JOHNSON COUNTY EDUCATION PROGRAMS, Johnson County

Thursday, June 6, 2024

Dip a net in the wetland with us and learn about the diverse macroinvertebrates that live in these habitats. We’ll provide nets, buckets, identification guides, and magnifying glasses. Explorers is a free nature program designed for elementary-aged kids - this program is especially suited to 2nd-4th graders.

We recommend wearing clothes that can get wet and muddy, and know that you may get a wet foot or leg along the way!

Please do not wear any bug spray as we don't want to harm the insects that we are aiming to intentionally catch.

Registration automatically closes one business day in advance. If you are fully registered, you can expect to receive an email "receipt" from MyCountyParks after registration. You will also receive an email from the leading naturalist a couple days in advance of the program. If you do not receive these emails, you may not be registered; call 319-645-1011 for assistance in this case.

JCC is committed to providing equal opportunity for participation in all programs, services and activities. We welcome and encourage people with disabilities to attend programs and events. Accommodations may be requested by contacting naturalist staff at 319-645-1011 or jccnaturalists@gmail.com
