This small area of prairie (5 acres) borders a historically significant cemetery.  Within this cemetery are veterans of conflicts ranging from the War of 1812 to the gulf war. The prairie itself demonstrates a wide diversity of flora.  The L-shaped five acres provides upland bird habitat.  The prairie is currently being managed to help control invasive species which are gaining a foothold in the area such as crowned vetch and sumac.

This small stretch of prairie contains one of the counties most diverse prairies.  This unique, diverse prairie contains species such as compass plant, spider wort, white indigo and gray headed coneflower.  Since the area does border a cemetery,  when hunting please take note of anyone visiting the cemetery grounds and use caution and respect the rights of those within the confines of the cemetery.

This small stretch of prairie is bordered by private land so please take note of park boundaries and respect private property.
