West Fork Access

Park entrance
Park entrance[4]White tail deer[4]Turkey[4]

The West Fork Access contains 264 acres of flood plain timber and small oxbow wetlands created by the old river channel.  The area provides plenty of habitat for woodland game species such as white tailed deer and wild turkey.  The nearby Turkey Ridge Wildlife Area is located across the river to the east creating a large tract of wildlife habitat.  In addition to hunting,  the area provides sufficient habitat for migratory waterfowl and songbirds.

Hikers will find the area filled with woodland scenery and ample opportunities to see woodland vegetation and associated wildlife.  The access also provides fisherman the opportunity  to catch small mouth bass, catfish and other game species commonly found in Iowa rivers.

Park boundaries may not always be clearly marked so please take note of where you are and respect the rights of land owners.

Location

The West Fork Access is located off of West Marquis Road north of Cedar Falls.
