Great Western Park
The Great Western Park is located on the south western edge of Manning and is run by the Carroll County Conservation Board. The original lake was recently restored and the whole park is continually being developed.
The Great Western Park is located just south of Manning on County Road M66 (just south of the New Manning Regional Healthcare Center).
The Great Western Park features a shelter house, modern restrooms, playground, fishing lake, walking trail, campground with water and electrical hook-ups and a shooting range (closed during pheasant season). The 12 acre, 14 ft. deep lake is equipped with a boat ramp.
For shelter reservations please call the Carroll County Conservation Board at (712) 792-4614. Current fees to rent the shelter are $45 per day with a $50 refundable clean-up deposit. Fees in the winter months are $55 per day from November through March. Non-profit rates for organizations are $25 and $30 from November through March.
Camping is on a first-come, first serve basis and is self-registration. The Campground is situated on top of a hill with a beautiful view of Manning and the Great Western Lake. Water and electric hook-ups are available for RV’s, with 8 sites total. A camping self-registration kiosk is located near the campground entrance. A dump station is situated near the restrooms. Tent camping is also available.

Operating Hours & Seasons
The shelter & walking trail is available year round. Camping season runs mid-April through the end of October, weather permitting.
