Howard's Woods


Howard's Woods is 20 acres of timber and park area on the Cedar River. It was donated to Chickasaw County by the Howard Family in 1959.  Howard's Woods is a multiple use area for hunters, fisherman, campers, and hikers.  A picnic shelter is provided along with primitive camping facilities, a concrete boat ramp and pit toilets.

2 miles northwest of Nashua at 2555 Addison Ave.

Access to the Cedar River for fisherman and boaters.  Concrete boat ramp

A Rock Elm located at Howard's Woods is on the State Register of Big Trees.

Camping rates - $10.00/day for primitive camping.

Operating Hours & Seasons

Users must leave the area by 10:30 p.m. unless fishing or camping.

Closures
