Dallas County Conservation Board

This is Dallas County Conservation Board Headquarters. The Dallas County Conservation Board (DCCB) acquires, develops, maintains and makes available to the residents of Dallas County, public museums, parks, preserves, parkways, playgrounds, recreational centers, county forests, wildlife and other conservation areas. We encourage the orderly development and conservation of natural resources and clutivate good citizenship by provideing programs of public recreation.

The DCCB owns or manages 19 sites totaling over 3000 acres. Land acquisition and conservation of our natural resources associated with the Raccoon River system in Dallas County is a high priority. This system is unique, scenic, and important to the public not only locally, but on a regional scale as well.

Another priority is environmental education. We will continue our leadership role in educating the public, especially our youth, about natural resources.
