Hunters must satisfactorily complete a hunter education course in order to obtain a hunting license.  A person who is 11 years-old or older may enroll the course, but those who are 11 and successfully complete the course shall be issued a certificate of completion which becomes valid on that person's 12th birthday. This course is put on by the Iowa DNR, and all registrations can be completed at www.iowadnr.gov. Students are required to have a training manual, which can be picked up at the Hurstville Center weekdays from 8-4. BOTH TRAINING DAYS ARE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A CERTIFICATE.
