The Raptor Resource Project - the Decorah Eagles

Wickiup Hill Learning Center, Linn County

Monday, April 3, 2017

Raptor Resource Project Director John Howe will present a joint program for Cedar Rapids Audubon Society and the Linn County Conservation Department at 7:30pm on Monday, April 3 at the First Lutheran Church at 1000 3rd Ave SE, in Cedar Rapids.  John will discuss note only the Decorah Eagles, but also the return of falcons to the Mississippi River Valley.   Founded in 1988 by the late Bob Anderson, the non-profit Raptor Resource Project specializes in the preservation of falcons, eagles, ospreys, hawks, and owls. The Resource Project’s goal is to create, improve, and directly maintain over 50 nests and nest sites, provide training in nest site creation and management, and develop innovations in nest site management and viewing that bring people closer to the natural world. Their mission is to preserve and strengthen raptor populations, expand participation in raptor preservation, and help foster the next generation of preservationists.   First Lutheran Church is located at 1000 3rd Ave SE, Cedar Rapids.  The social time begins at 7pm and the program itself will begin at 7:30pm.
