Working with the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation and many other donors that Iowa River Wildlife Management Area is the most recent addition to Marshall County Conservation Areas. Also taking the title of the largest recreational area in Marshall County the Iowa River Wildlife Area offers some of the most unique and diverse habitat in the county. The mature hardwood timber portion plays host to many unique flora and fauna species including: Turk’s Cap Lily, Green Dragon, and Red-shouldered Hawks. You will also find wetland areas, rolling grassland, and 1.5 stretch of the Iowa River bordering the area..

The wildlife areas is located on my north of Marshalltown.

Operating Hours & Seasons

Wildlife Area Hours are 5:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. Open year round.
