River's Bend Wildlife Area is a newly developed recreation area with a 20 acre lake, near Big Sioux River.  Prairie habitat was planted around the lake for wildlife.  Fishing jetties were built, bank stabilization achieved with riprap material, and the lake was stocked with bass and bluegill in 2015.  A concrete boat ramp allows access to the lake for non-gas powered boats. There is no swimming allowed.

In 2016 a picnic shelter and restroom were added and we began work on a campground.  Said campground will have 10 camping sites, each having electricity and access to water.  We hope to open this campground late in the summer of 2017.
