Chichaqua Bottoms Greenbelt is located at 8600 NE 126 Avenue, Maxwell. Turn south onto NE 80 Street off of NE 134 Avenue. Northeast 80 Street will turn left onto NE 126 Avenue, you will see the park entrance sign at this point. Watch park signs. The Longhouse will be to your left. $130/day Reservation may be made up to TWO YEARS to date in advance. Rental must be in the name of a person who is 18 years of age or older who will be present at the facility for the full term of the reservation. If beer or wine will be at facility, rental must be in the name of a person who is 21 years of age or older who will be present at the facility for the full term of the reservation. Any renter having keg beer is required to pay a $100 deposit to the ranger on the day of the event and prior to the beginning of the event. Only one reservation is allowed per day. Additional fees may apply with special events. YOUTH GROUPS An organized youth group may reserve the Chichaqua Longhouse for overnight use. The fee for organized youth groups to use the Longhouse overnight is $65 per night. Youth group reservations must be made through the Conservation Office at (515) 323-5370.
The Longhouse is available for rent year round. Reservations may be made up to TWO YEARS to date in advance. One may utilize the Longhouse from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM.
Holidays that the Longhouse is not available for reservations are Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.
All Rules & Regulations of the Polk County Conservation Board are in effect. All laws of the State of Iowa are in effect. Keg beer requires a deposit of $100. Polk County Conservation Board's liability insurance excludes the use of aircraft on park property including hot-air balloons, planes, helicopters, ultra-lights, and parachutes. Special Event Permit Application must be completed for such things as dunk tanks; carnivals; erecting large tents; horse-drawn carriages; generators; power saws; chain saws; power tools of any kind; public address system whether fixed, portable or vehicular-mounted; inflatable bouncers; smoker grills; extra picnic tables; extra parking; or weddings.
