Children's Maple Tree Tap - 10:00 a.m. Session

Families with children ages 7 & under are invited to join us for this special maple tree tapping program geared toward younger learners on Saturday, March 4th at Botna Bend Park. Join us for one of three special programs to be held at 9:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. Each session will last approximately 45 minutes. We ask that only families with children age 7 & under attend this program. If you are a family with older children or adults interested in maple tree tapping you are invited to attend our all ages event instead.

This special tree tapping program will introduce younger learners to the sweet world of maple syrup in a fun way. Hands on activities will help young learners understand the tapping & refining process used to create our own special maple syrup.Space in this program is limited so pre-registration is required by Wednesday, March 1st. There is no fee for this event, free will donations are accepted to support continued programming opportunities in Pottawattamie County. Participants must have a valid Pottawatttamie County Parks annual permit or purchase a $2.00 per vehicle daily entrance pass to enter the park. Daily passes may be purchased with cash or check at the front entrance the day of the event. Annual permits may be purchased from staff at any of our parks or at the Loess Hills Lodge at Hitchcock Nature Center during regular business hours.

While this event is family friendly it is not pet friendly, please leave your canine friends at home. Service animals are always welcome.
