The July & August field season will feature 7 different workshops on Saturday's & Sundays. Saturday workshops will focus on the diverse habitats and ecosystem at Hitchcock Nature Center.  Sunday workshops will focus on cultivating attentiveness and mindfulness in nature through writing, discussion of readings, and contemplative walking (sauntering after Thoreau) and sitting quietly. Students may want to bring food, water, binoculars, hand lenses, notebooks & field guides. Please note the Naturalist School workshops require walking long distances over steep terrain & will take place in most weather conditions. Workshops may be physically challenging for participants.

Pre-registration is required for these workshops as space is limited. Participants may register for individual sessions at a cost of $15.00 per session or for the full 7 session field season at a discounted price of $75.00.  To register for the entire 7 session season or for additional individual sessions please return to the events page and select the dates you wish to participate.

Saturday sessions will focus on the flora, fauna ecosystems, & habitats of the Loess Hills. Sunday sessions will focus on nature writing, attentiveness, & sauntering. Times are subject to change due to weather.
