Sunday, August 27, 2017

Join us for the third session of the Late Summer Field Season of The Naturalist School at Hitchcock Nature Center on Sunday, August 27th from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m.

The August & September field season will feature 6 different workshops on Saturdays & Sundays. Saturday workshops will focus on the diverse habitats and ecosystem at Hitchcock Nature Center. Sunday workshops will focus on cultivating attentiveness and mindfulness in nature through writing, discussion of readings, & contemplative walking (sauntering after Thoreau) & sitting quietly. Students may want to bring food, water, binoculars, hand lenses, notebooks & field guides. Please note the Naturalist School workshops require walking long distances over steep terrain & will take place in most weather conditions. Workshops may be physically challenging for participants.

Pre-registration is required for these workshops as space is limited. Participants may register for individual sessions at a cost of $15.00 per session or for the full 6 session field season at a discounted price of $75.00.
