HawkWatch Eagle Migration

Hitchcock Nature Center has been recognized as one of the top 5 hawkwatches in the world for viewing migrating bald eagles and November is the perfect time to spot these majestic birds in flight.
This annual program includes raptor demonstrations, a guided birding hike, & other fun filled activities for participants of all ages. Participants will be divided into groups and will rotate through a series of stations to experience a variety of activities throughout the afternoon. The Loess Hills Lodge gift shop & exhibit gallery will be open throughout this event as will the deck and the tower so make sure and allow extra time to take in the sights.
To ensure proper staffing for this event pre-registration is required by November 15th. Online, phone & email registration will begin in September, 2017. Register online in minutes or call 712-545-3283 for more information.
All attendees will need to purchase a $2.00 per vehicle daily entrance pass or have a valid Pottawattamie County Parks annual permit to attend this event. Daily entrance passes may be purchased with exact change or a check at the front gate and may be purchased the day of the event. Annual permits may be purchased for $10.00 at the Loess Hills Lodge Welcome Desk during regular business hours. There is no additional fee to attend this event. Free will donations are encouraged and will support continued programming opportunities in Pottawattamie County.
This event is not pet friendly, please leave your canine friends at home. Service animals are always welcome.
