Camping, hiking, boating, picnicking, nature observation and fishing. This is the time of year to get out and explore nature close to home.

Otter Creek Lake and Park, located in central Tama County, is a beautiful location to get away from it all.  

This time of year you can enjoy a delicious picnic with family and friends. Wetting a fish line is a relaxing way to forget all the stresses in your daily life. Hiking is excellent exercise and coupled with the beautiful natural environment at Otter Creek Lake and Park is stimulating and enjoyable.

The spring migration is well underway with many species of birds present at the park. This will last well into June and provides many hours of nature observation opportunities. After the migrants pass through it is always fun observing the nesting birds, the resident mammals and amphibians living at the lake.

The campgrounds at Otter Creek Lake and Park are open for the year.  Electricity, water, restrooms, dump station and shower-house are available. All camp fee rates are per camping unit per night. Camp fee rates are $17 per night for all units camping in the electrical camp area. All camping units are welcome in the electric camp section located in the NE portion of the park.

Camping coupons are available in seven, fourteen and twenty-one day packages which can stretch your camping dollar while camping in the electrical camping section.

A primitive camp section located in the SW corner of the park is a place where tents, small fold-downs, camper vans and pickups with small toppers can camp. Camping units using electricity (in the primitive camp section) pay $10 per night, units without electricity in the primitive camp section pay $9 per night. 

Otter Creek Lake and Park is a 522 acre multi-use facility with a 70 acre lake. Activities hosted at the park include fishing, camping, boating, hiking, swimming, picnicking, and nature observation.   The park offers 65 electric and 17 tents sites. All sites are offered on a first come, first served basis. No reservations will be taken.   

Directions to Otter Creek Lake and Park are as follows: From the intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 30 in Toledo, Go north 2.2 miles on Hwy 63, East 3.6 mi on E-43, and 1.5 miles N on N Ave.
