Reinig Wildlife Refuge & Nature Study Area

This 46.29 acre parcel of land was deeded to Tama County and gifted to the Conservation Board by Leona Reinig of Toledo.
The property is managed as a Wildlife Refuge. NO HUNTING OR TRAPPING ALLOWED ON THIS PROPERTY. There is a small timber area and prairie area.
Development on the property will be limited in scale and intended to encourage residents to explore and learn more about the natural environment.

Tentative plans include a circular trail system and wetland. It is anticipated that 16 acres of the land will remain in crop production to generate revenues needed for improvement projects and maintenance. Ten percent of the cropped acres will be left as a food plot for wildlife.
