Kuennen's Quarry is a day use park that offers two quarry ponds that can be used for multiple recreational activities. The north pond is 3 acres total, and the south pond is 8 acres. Fishing is a popular activity at Kuennen's Quarry, both quarry ponds are stocked with bass, blue gill, crappie and northern pike. A handicap accessible fishing pier is located on the south pond, as well as a concrete boat ramp. People of all skill levels can enjoy the blue/green colored water while canoeing or kayaking on the ponds. A small swimming beach is located on the south edge of the big pond, and perfect for cooling off on a hot day. Children will enjoy the modern playground across from the indoor log shelter.

As a day use park, Kuennen's Quarry offers two shelter houses available to reserve. The large indoor shelter provides heating and AC, a small kitchen, restroom, and tables. The outdoor log shelter has electric, and is perfect for a day outdoors. 



Location

One mile south of Northwood, Ia on Hwy 65 and then 0.5 miles east on 450th St.
