The Osceola County Conservation Board
strives to provide high quality recreation
experiences to anyone who visits our parks,
preserves, and wildlife areas. Located in the
upper reaches of Northwest Iowa, Osceola
County boasts 1600 acres of some of the
finest pheasant hunting land in Iowa.
While you are here, stop in to the Willow
Creek Nature Center, located at Willow Creek
County Park. Here you will find a wide variety
of animals and plants native to the area and
throughout Iowa. You might even want to
wander across the road and observe the Willow
Creek Fen, one of the rarest and most fragile
ecosystems that can be found in Iowa.
Located in north central Osceola County,
Devil’s Ridge Wildlife Management Area is
a great location to pursue wildlife. It is also
a prime location to stop and observe some
of the geological features left behind by
the Wisconsin Glacier. A lateral moraine,
a kame, and a kettle hole are all present on
this 160 acre piece of natural and restored
prairie.
