The statewide association of Iowa’s county conservation boards provides a network of 99 unique
programs with a dynamic diversity of facilities, services and events – locally managed, funded & supported
by a great team effort of staff and volunteers. Financial support is generated by local property taxes, REAP
(Resource Enhancement And Protection),
additional grant dollars, and modest user fees. The existence of
these local county conservation programs are integral to the quality of life, workforce enhancement, and
economic development of their county and regions. Were it not for the visionary planning and dedication of
many individuals to the preservation and enhancement to Iowa’s natural resources – the tremendous
opportunities that are available to each and every Iowan (
and visitors!
) today would not have been
possible. Our collective thanks to each of you for celebrating our great system with us!
