Description
Full time Ranger/Naturalist under supervision of the Director. Employee shall develop, coordinate, and conduct various conservation programs for schools, civic groups, educators and the public. Prepare quarterly newsletters, brochures, and other educational materials. Develop, coordinate, and present special events and programs. Supervises and participates in maintenance work and improvement of park facilities. Some maintenance duties will include painting, servicing equipment, climbing ladders, cleaning restrooms, trail construction, building fence, mowing, trimming, building construction, welding, pouring concrete and the ability to operate equipment safely. Applicants will collect fees and be able to keep adequate records.
REQUIRMENTS: Must possess a valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record (verified). Must live within 30 miles of Belva Deer County Park. Demonstrate the ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, other departments, and the public. Ability to utilize personal computer and basic Microsoft Word and Excel. Must work weekends, holidays, and evenings as requested. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and the ability to lift heavy objects. Experience with operation of tractors, pick-up trailer towing, seed drills, chainsaws, trimmers, mowers, and hand tools are a must. Peace Officer certification will be required.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited 2 year college or 2 years experience in work related occupation is required. Must be able to pass peace officer standards and physical test, background check and drug testing.
