FEBRUARY 2 - 4, 2009  -Waterloo Convention Center & Ramada Inn

The 38th annual edition of the #1 NETWORKING OPPORTUNITY for County Conservation Employees is well into the planning stages for 2009! REGISTRATION DEADLINE is December 31, 2008 (without penalty)

REGISTRATION PACKETS (PDF format) will be available by late October/early November as presenters and conference details are finalized.

TWO KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
(Once again!)

We are once again embracing the "two-keynote-speaker" concept that we started in 2007! Tentative keynote speakers for 2009 include Kenny Salwey ("The Last River Rat"), and Jan Mickelson - the morning talkshow host on WHO radio in Des Moines.

Additional session topics will be listed here as they become available!

COLLEGIATE TRACK GROWS!
2009 will be our 4th year of inviting career-track students from regional colleges to join us at WINTERFEST. This hugely popular addition to WINTERFEST had over 100 participants registered from 7 regional colleges in this past year! In addition, we started the mini caree fair in 2008 with 15 participating county conservation boards, and look to double or triple that participation in 2009!

REGISTRATION DEADLINE WILL BE DECEMBER 31, 2008

Stay tuned for additional information as your IACCBE Planning Committee begins releasing more information for 2009!

IACCBE Partnership with theWaterloo CVB!
We are fortunate to be able to partner with the Waterloo Convention and Visitors Bureau in the production of our annual Winterfest conferences! Through the Waterloo Hotel-Motel Tax Grant Program, the CVB is able to financially support Winterfest. The grants that we received for 2007 AND 2008 allow us to secure our keynote presenters well in advance of the event, and we look forward to many more productive years for this partnership.  Winterfest has been held in Waterloo since 2001.

In addition, IACCBE is appreciative of the Iowa Trust for Local Conservation which allows application for such grants under it's 501.C.3 exempt status. The Iowa TLC supports the Winterfest Conference and IACCBE educational efforts through two of their primary missions:
* "Expanding educational efforts for the general public, volunteer board members and conservation board staff to increase the effectiveness of those local entities."
* "Increasing the effectiveness of County Conservation Board programs throught staff and board member training and professional development."

Our collective thanks to both of these entities for their ongoing support!
