Lake Orient Campground

This 22-acre lake offers fishing, camping with electricity, shelter houses, a playground, Frisbee golf, horseshoes, and a walking trail. Orient Lake provides recreation for visitors of all ages.
A marker commemorating Henry A. Wallace is located in the park. Wallace was born near Orient and served as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, U.S. Vice President, and U.S. Secretary of Commerce


Location

Lake Orient is located one mile west on Highway 25 of Orient, Iowa, at 3103 Orange Avenue.

Operating Hours & Seasons

The park is open all year.  Water and electric service is available in the campground from April 1 through October 30.  The campground is open from November 1 through March 30 with no electric or water service.  The park is open 24 hours a day with quite hours from 11 PM to 7 AM each night.

Closures

  • The campground electricity and water services are turned off during the winter season from November 1 to March 30
