Elk Creek Wildlife Area is an old rock quarry that was shut down in the 60's and was handed over to the DCCB for management by the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation in 2009. Elk Creek runs through the southern portion of this area. This area offers excellent hunting opportunites for deer, turkey and other small game animals. There is a nice size pond also on the area that was formed form the operation of the old rock quarry. DCCB is currently in the process of surveying the land to find the park boundaries and will be placing signs to mark the boundaries once completed.
