This 8 acre park is situated along the south bank of the Grand River. Fishing and picnicking are offered at this popular park. A large shelter (no electricity) and pit toilet facilities are also available.
Shewmaker Park is named after Elba Shewmaker, former Decatur County Treasurer, whose family donated the land for this park. Plans for a canoe access are in the making and the Decatur County Conservation Board plans to start construciton on this project in the fall of 2009.

Shewmaker Park is located 1/2 mile south and 1 mile east of the town of Grand River.

This beautiful park overlooks the Grand River and is known for its great location for the "HOT" fishing hole. A large shelter (no electricity) and fire pit makes for a great picnicking spot. There are pit toilets are also available. A canoe access to the Grand River will be completed for 2010.
