Surrounded by water, this 14-acre park makes for an ideal spot for all water-related sports. A concrete boat ramp and public dock provide easy access to South Sabula Lake and the Mississippi River.

All campsites are first come first serve. No reservations for campsites. 

No ATVs allowed in campground!



Location

South Sabula Lake Park is located at the southern most end of South Avenue in Sabula. Take highway 52/64 into Sabula. Go south on Broad Street, which turns into South Avenue. Follow South Ave into South Sabula Lake Park.  The only roadway into park is under a railroad bridge and access height is limited to 12' 8".

Note: The rail bridge coming into the park has a maximum clearance of 12' 8" to be able to enter the park. This is the entry point into the campground.

 

We do not own or manage the north beach on South Sabula Lake. For information about the beach, please call Sabula City Hall at (563) 687-2420.



Operating Hours & Seasons

2024: opening date slated for May 1 this year. 

 

Park is open April or May - October (pending weather and river levels for opening/closing weekends).

Shower building opens after April 15 - and closes by October 15 (weather pending). Water is turned off October 15 - April 15.

Park open to visitors 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM. Campers only after 10:30 PM.

Campground attendants are available May - September.



Closures

Park is closed November - March. 

Note: During high river levels, the park will close when the water covers the entry road, at approximately 17' river height
