Plum Creek Wildlife area is a 70 acre former gravel pit that borders the East Fork Des Moines River. There is a rock dam in the river that can be driven to that offers excellent catfish and walleye fishing. The pits can also offer some good fishing for a variety of fish. This area also includes some timber, upland, and seasonal wetland areas. Public hunting is allowed.

Plum Creek Wildlife area is located about 4 miles northeast of Algona, or 2 miles straight east of Smith Lake.
