August Hitch Hike

Hitchcock Nature Center, Pottawattamie County

Tuesday, August 16, 2016

Join us for the fourth hike in our 2016 Hitch Hike series as we take a walk down Hohneke Trail to Oak Avenue and Bunker Hill Loops. Visitors and experience the newest addition to our trail system, explore a remnant of the Old Lincoln Highway and walk near the Hitchcock Raptor Banding Station. Hikers are asked to meet at the Old Lincoln Highway Obeservation Deck in the Hitchcock Nature Center Campground.

We invite the public to attend all of the hikes in our Hitch Hike series. Join us on the third Tuesday of the month, May through September for a chance to explore Hitchcock Nature Center. The series will start with a more moderate trail, and we will work our way towards a healthy, invigorating 2.5 mile hike to the most western edge of the preserve at the series' end.

We recommend bringing a water bottle, bug spray, & sunblock & dress for the weather & terrain.  There is no cost for this event, free will donations will be accepted. Weather permitting.
