Worth County Conservation is located in far north central Iowa along the Minnesota border, and is home to Silver Lake Park and Panicum Prairie. The Worth CCB collectively manages 28 parks, natural areas, prairies, memorial sites and rest areas - encompassing over 3,190 acres throughout the county.

Activities in Worth County

Worth county provides ample opportunities for outdoor recreation to the public. Many of our parks and natural areas are great sites for hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, wildlife viewing and canoeing/kayaking. Worth County Conservation Board manages many natural areas that supply habitat for popular game species such as wild turkey, whitetail deer, pheasants, and waterfowl. Popular fishing spots within the county can be found at our parks, including lakes and ponds or along the Shellrock River.

Worth county has three campgrounds, each of which offer a unique camping experience from one another. As well as provide places to hike, canoe/kayak, and fish. Many of our parks are also day use areas, with indoor and outdoor facilities that are available to the public to rent. 

Facilities in Worth County

There are five big shelters available for rent with numerous small day use shelters.  Both the Silver Lake and Ochee Yahola campgrounds have pit toilets a electric only camp sites. While our Worth County Lake campground has both water and electric hookups available, as well as a modern bathroom facility. Our day use areas have pit toilets only, and are handicap accessible.
