Hannen Park:

Located in beautiful southern Benton County (Southwest of Blairstown), Hannen Park is a wonderful get-away to spend a day fishing and swimming or an ideal location for your next vacation. 218 acres of woodland and prairie surround a 45 acre lake. This lake is recognized as the first county conservation man-made lake in the state of Iowa.

Park History:

Hannen Lake Park is BCCB’s largest campground and a hotspot for fishermen and hikers in Benton County offering 83 campsites, a beach, a rustic cabin, and several picnic areas. Located outside of Blairstown, Iowa in southern Benton County, Hannen Lake is home to the first man made lake by a county conservation department in the state of Iowa! BCCB began creating a county park after acquiring this site from members of the Hannen family in 1958. Construction of the 45 acre lake began in 1960 and required moving over 56,000 cubic yards of earth, placing 1,350 tons of stone rip rap, and constructing a 600 foot long dam.

Recently acquired adjacent property:
BCCB recently acquired 40 adjacent acres to Hannen Park through a generous donation and a grant from the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation,

RV Friendly Campground!  Easy access and large footprint.
