Brush up on your compass skills while collecting sap at
Hartman Reserve Nature Center!
Upon arriving at the park, families will be given a sap
collection bucket and compass to borrow. After a short compass lesson
from the naturalist, your group will collect sap from Hartman's maple trees
while looking for specially marked sap bucket lids that have clues! Only a
limited number of bucket lids will have clues, so don’t forget to wear your
boots and warm coats for this sticky scavenger hunt. Once you find a special
sap bucket, follow the clues and use the compass to locate gnomes hidden in the
woods. Find one gnome or find them all! Decode the gnome’s messages and
head back to the Sugar Shack for a sweet treat.
The cost is $7 per family. All children must be
accompanied by an adult. For planning purposes, please indicate on the online registration form the number of adults & the number of children that will be attending from your family.
*Refund Policy: Refunds will only be given in the case of a documented
medical emergency or funeral for programs more than $10. If program cost is
under $10, a program voucher will be offered for a future program. If a
program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen reasons, then a similar
program will be offered in its place.
