Tap Takeover: Maple Syrup Edition

Hartman Reserve Nature Center, Black Hawk County

Saturday, February 27, 2021

For the first time ever, you can come out and help Black Hawk Co. Conservation staff tap the maple trees at Hartman Reserve! You will be put in small groups with a staff member to assist in the tapping of the maple syrup trees. Spots are extremely limited. Kids ages 12 and up are welcome; younger children will not be allowed at this program. Please dress for the weather and in clothes that can get dirty. You will be walking on uneven terrain. You also may be using small hand tools. Tapping will begin promptly at 2pm. We are unsure of exactly how long this will take, but don't think it will last longer than 3 hours.

Registration is required. No walk-ins will be taken.

Cost: $5/adult, $5/child - No children under the age of 12 will be allowed at this program
