Tales from the Trail Book Club
Hartman Reserve Nature Center, Black Hawk County
Sunday, September 8, 2024
Explore the natural world through words with Tales from the Trail, Hartman Reserve's nature-themed book club! With new picks monthly, members will have the opportunity to expand their world view while learning about conservation, wildlife, and natural sciences. Members will meet on Sunday, September 8th at 2 PM to participate in guided discussion and share their thoughts and ideas, as well as to pick out the book for the following month.
August's pick is A History of Wild Places by Shea Ernshaw. In this “riveting, atmospheric thriller that messes with your mind in the best way” (Laini Taylor, New York Times bestselling author), three residents of a secluded, seemingly peaceful commune investigate the disappearances of two outsiders.
The club has a minimal one-time cost of $2/adult to ensure attendance/RSVP and to cover event fees. We want to make this an affordable social gathering for like-minded book worms, like we are here at the Nature Center. Once registered, you will be added to an email list and are no longer required to register online monthly. Members are responsible for obtaining their own copy of the book.
Refund Policy: Refunds will only be given in the case of a documented medical emergency or funeral for programs more than $10. If program cost is under $10, a program voucher will be offered for a future program. If a program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen reasons, then a similar program will be offered in its place.
