Townsend Wildlife Area


This is a multi-parcel wildlife management area area that offers hiking and public hunting.  The 118 acres east of the highway is upland forest and was funded in part by a federal grant from the Land and Water Conservation Program.  The Townsend Expansion is a 60 acre mixed forest and prairie area located on the west side of Hoover Highway.  It is owned by the Iowa DNR but maintained by Cedar CCB through a 28-E agreement.

Location

The properties are located 6 miles south of Lowden, IA on Herbert Hoover Hwy.  Parking is on the east side of the highway.
