Lime Creek Conservation Area Equestrian Parking Lot

Posted:4/26/2013 Cerro Gordo / Lime Creek Nature Center & Conservation Area

The Cerro Gordo County Conservation Board has constructed a new “Equestrian Trailer Parking Only” lot area at the Lime Creek Conservation Area.  The new equestrian parking lot is located east of the old railroad tracks along the north side of the road.  The equestrian parking lot area is signed to inform users of entrance location, parking direction (diagonal head-in parking only) and exit area.  All equestrian trailer parking is required to utilize the new parking lot area and all non-equestrian trailer users are prohibited from parking in the new lot.  (Equestrian trailer parking is prohibited in the nature center parking lot area due to the construction of the equestrian parking lot area.)  All users are required to park in proper designated parking areas while utilizing the Lime Creek Conservation Area and all unauthorized parking will be enforced.  All Lime Creek Conservation Area equestrian users are reminded to cleanup animal waste deposited in the parking lot area and throughout the trail system.  All animal waste shall be cleaned up and hauled away by the animal handler.  Continued animal waste complaints may result in the Conservation Board imposing user restrictions.  Special trail use patrons (i.e. horseback & bicycles) are also responsible for determining if the CGCCB has special use restrictions in effect (i.e. trail closures).  For more information or Recreational Experience Close to Home brochures outlining the LCCA trail system, contact the Cerro Gordo County Conservation office at (641) 423-5309, visit the web site at www.co.cerro-gordo.ia.us, or stop at the Lime Creek Nature Center M-F 7:30am to 4:00pm.
