Explore the world of home brewing while learning the basics needed to produce quality beer in your own home. Students will learn what goes into making beer from a standard recipe kit, how to use basic equipment, and how to bottle homemade beer for future enjoyment. You will have the opportunity to use basic beer making equipment and learn about different beer styles. This course includes all informational material and at the conclusion of the 3 week course students will go home with beer they made during the class.
This
class will be 3 weeks in length and occur once a week with each class running from 6-9 pm. Class size is limited to 20 participants.
Week
1: cook the beer and get it into the primary fermenters, discuss a
brief history of beer making, and the general brewing process
including the steps, terms, and equipment
Week
2: rack the beer into a secondary fermenter, and discuss the
different common beer styles(including samples of them.
Week
3: Bottling the beer, this would include practicing how to fill, and
cap bottles used for home brewing, followed by transferring beer into
a bottling bucket and then into bottles.
