Conservation Intern

The Conservation Intern is a seasonal position that tentatively runs from May through September depending on school schedules. This position will work with all Harrison County Conservation staff and functions and reports to Willow Lake Recreation Area each day. This position receives a wage of $11.50 - $12.00/hr with the expectation of a 40 hour work week. Some holiday, weekend and evening hours are required. Housing may be available.

This position will assist in all aspects of park maintenance including but not limited to: mowing, trimming, mulching, painting, facility cleaning, trash removal and basic equipment, facility and vehicle repair. Interns will also assist in all aspects of natural area management including but not limited to: invasive species removal, prairie restoration, prairie planting, trail maintenance and all aspects of prescribed fire operations. Interns will also be involved in educational events such as nature center programs, classroom visits, public events and parades. Housing may be available.
