Enjoy the natural beauty of the wooden bluffs and Grant Wood country charm of the Wapsipinicon River.
Explore a sandbar and feast on your own picnic lunch and learn about the natural history of this stretch of the Wapsi.
If water levels are right glimpse remnants of a historic Native American fishing weir.
8:30am - watercraft/equipment staging at Wapsipinicon State Park lower boat ramp parking lot
9am - vehicle stating at Newport Mills Access - drivers drop off vehicles and shuttle back to Wapsipinicon State Park
9:30am - introductions and safety talk at boat ramp before take off
10am - begin paddling (8.9 miles to take out)
Bring your own watercraft or rent a canoe or kayak (limited number available)
