Kayak Safety Basics
Pinicon Ridge Park, Linn County
Tuesday, June 14, 2022
If you’re new to kayaking, the backwaters at Pinicon Ridge Park are a great
place to practice and learn about open water kayaking, but in a controlled
backwater setting
Join ACA certified kayak instructors as we cover Personal Flotation Devices
(PFD), equipment, river etiquette, where to paddle and safety.
We will practice
basic strokes, graceful entry and exit of a kayak and more. This session should
be helpful to even experienced paddlers but is ideal for those just getting
their feet wet.
Tuesday, June 14 6-8 p.m., at Pinicon Ridge Park, Watercraft Concession. We will meet initially at the Eagle View Shelter. You should provide your own gear, boats, paddles, etc. Limited
additional gear may be provided by calling 319-892-6485, to arrange for that
option well in advance of the class. Online registration required. Cost:
$20/session

be supervised by an adult.
