Just a Walk in the Park Series – Trail 6 - Wildflower Hike at Rock Island Botanical Reserve

Bluebells or other ephemerals bloom throughout the spring season – we will visit Rock Island Preserve with the guidance of Frank Olson, local botanical and butterfly expert and Chuck Ungs, LCCD Naturalist.  The Preserve is located at 4501 Preserve Lane, Cedar Rapids, Iowa – just west of the Xavier football field.  Participants should expect to view a variety of wildflowers and to find this little gem to be a real treasure.  Trails have been effected by the derecho so some bushwhacking may be required, but we will roam through some of the lovely area to experience it.
