New cell phone tour

Posted:9/8/2014 Marshall / Green Castle Recreation Area

Beginning in early September, visitors to Marshall County Conservation Board managed areas will be able to learn more about different park features  by using the MCCB cell phone tour. At various MCCB areas, signs will be posted with phone numbers and extensions allowing visitors to call and find out more about park features.   \

The first park to receive this new feature will be Green Castle Recreation Area. Visitors, by calling 641-844-2839 and entering the appropriate 3 digit extension, will hear about various exhibits like the Trumpeter Swans and American bison. Other highlights will be the Dean Memorial Observatory, the fisheries of the lake, Gander Lookout shelter, and overall history of the park. Additional parks to have the cell phone tour available in the near future will be Grammer Grove, Grimes Farm, Timmons Grove, Three Bridges, Sand Lake, Marietta Sand Prairie, and the Iowa River Wildlife Area. We hope this added information system will make your visit to MCCB areas more enjoyable.
