This 230-acre prairie was acquired in 1996, Whitetail Flats Wildlife Area has six acres of timber, and the remainder has been seeded to native prairie grasses. There is a small food plot and several small, restored wetland basins which hold seasonal water.  This area is known for its pheasants and non-game species.
