Learn about the hawks, falcons, eagles, owls, and vultures that live in Iowa or migrate through on their way to nesting or wintering areas. We’ll discuss their physical traits as well as identifying the prey they seek, and the habitat they prefer for nesting and rearing their young. You’ll also learn tips for identifying these birds of prey, when you spot one sitting or on the wing. Register for lunch only.

Looking for an excuse to get out of the house, make some new friends, enjoy a good meal and learn about the exciting world of nature? Then join us! These programs are held the first Tuesday of each month. The nature program will start at 11:00 a.m. at the Jester Park Lodge. An optional luncheon follows the program at noon in which pre-registration is required. Luncheon registration deadline - November 30 . The cost of the catered lunch by The Radish is $10. Lunch menu - rosemary chicken, parsley potatoes, vegetable, salad, bread, and dessert.
