Lauridsen Skatepark

The Lauridsen Skatepark was created with our community in mind, to provide fun and challenging opportunities for skateboarders and spectators alike.

Located in the heart of downtown Des Moines, the skatepark sits on five acres at the northern edge of the Principal Riverwalk – just east of the Wells Fargo Arena and Iowa Events Center. Designed by California Skateparks, the Lauridsen Skatepark is an attractive extension of the city’s beautiful Principal Riverwalk.

Polk County Conservation, manager of the Lauridsen Skatepark, along with Catch Des Moines (the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau), Skate DSM (local non-profit), Subsect (local skateboard shop), and Polk County Iowa are excited to bring this new recreational, opportunity to Des Moines.
