Its back and better than ever! After taking a break for a few years, Polk County Conservation is again sponsoring a trip to Colorado for a high-adventure whitewater rafting trip on the famous Arkansas River. “Perhaps the most fun I have had as an adult” is how a past participant described her experience on this trip in 2008. We’ll camp three nights and paddle three full days. On the final afternoon, the river will take us through the Royal Gorge where the world’s highest suspension bridge spans the river over 1000 feet above.
Fee: $1,300; includes all expenses except meals while travelling. All camping and paddling gear is provided.
Departure from Jester Park Nature Center at 6:30 a.m.
Participant limit: 10
Participants must be at least 21 years of age and in good physical condition.
Registration deadline is May 1. Register early for the limited number of spaces available!
