Learn how to canoe with help from Pottawattamie Conservation during this hands-on program on Friday, September 18th at Arrowhead Park in Neola. This program begins at 6:30 p.m. with an on-shore introduction to canoe techniques & safety followed by on the water practice as you enjoy sunset from the water.

Cost for this event is $5.00 per person & includes park admission, canoe rental, & life jacket rental. This program is designed for participants age 8 & over only. Youth age 8 to 13 must be accompanied by an adult while in a canoe. Life jackets must be worn by all participants anytime they are on the water.

Registration is required for this event & space is limited. To register please call Amy Campagna, Environmental Education Coordinator at 712-242-1189. Registrations will be taken on a first come first served basis, if there is no answer please leave your name, phone number, & the number of people you wish to register & staff will return your call as soon as they are able to.

Due to concerns regarding COVID-19 this program has been adjusted to provide the safest learning experience for guests & staff.  Masks are not required but may be worn. Participants will be asked to maintain 6' of distance between themselves & other groups at all times & the program will be arranged to facilitate social distancing. Canoes will not be shared between groups & all equipment will be sanitized before & after the program. We have also reduced our maximum number of attendees to keep our group small. Thank you for understanding.

This program is not pet friendly. Please meet in the parking area near the park paybox, staff will direct you from there. 

Cancellation Policy:
Guests may cancel their reservation for a full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the program date by calling 712-545-3283 and speaking with staff directly. Cancellations received less than 1 week (7 days) in advance of the event will not be refunded. Fees for programs cancelled by PCC due to weather or other circumstances will be refunded.
