This event is designed for learners of all ages and skill levels. Learn more about monarch butterflies, their unusual lifestyle and life cycle, and miraculous migration to Mexico as we teach you how we catch and handle monarchs for research. This event will begin with a 20 minute program on the monarch and training to help you successfully catch and tag a butterfly on your own. Following the program participants are welcome to head out on the trails in search of butterflies. Tags are provided for butterflies caught on site, during the event. Additional tags may be available to purchase and take home.

You are welcome to bring your own butterfly net & we will have nets available for use. We will also have a limited number of butterfly nets available for purchase in the gift shop. Please dress for the weather & don't forget the insect repellent, sunblock, & water as much of this program is outdoors.
