OWLS: Vegetation Invasion

Hitchcock Nature Center, Pottawattamie County

Tuesday, March 19, 2019

Area seniors are invited to bring their lunch and join us at Hitchcock Nature Center on Tuesday, March 19th at noon as we kick off our 2019 OWLS learning series.

Our 2019 OWLS learning series will focus on the "World of Hidden Forces" that exist all around us. We will begin our season by learning more about invasive plant species in our own natural spaces & how they impact native species & degrade ecosystems. Our gift shop, exhibit gallery, & observation deck will be open before and after this program so make sure to allow extra time to explore all that we have to offer at Hitchcock Nature Center.

OWLS (Older Wiser Learning Seniors) is a series of programs designed for participants age 55 & over with an interest in environmental science & conservation topics. Programs are presented by Pottawattamie County Naturalists & cover a wide variety of topics. Each program is held over the lunch hour at the Loess Hills Lodge at Hitchcock Nature Center & participants are invited to bring a sack lunch to enjoy while they learn.
