Join us at Hitchcock Nature Center for a unique butterfly program on Sunday, August 11th at 1:00 p.m.Learn more about the beautiful butterflies that call Hitchcock Nature Center home. This series of programs is presented by Jason Anderson, Wildlife Biologist with Pheasants Forever.

Each program session will begin with an informative presentation on active butterfly species, helpful tips on the habitats these species will be found in, then a guided field session as attendees head outdoors to spot these beautiful insects.

Sunday, June 9th - 1:00 p.m.
Sunday, August 11th - 1:00 p.m.
Sunday, October 13th - 1:00 p.m.

This program is being presented as part of our adult education programming, participants must be age 14 & over to attend. 

Please note, this program will include pedestrian travel over uneven surfaces in Iowa's Loess Hills at Hitchcock Nature Center. Travel may be physically strenuous, please be prepared. Attendees are asked to dress for the weather & wear appropriate shoes for hiking. Water bottles, sunblock, & insect repellent are recommended. Attendees may also wish to bring binoculars if they have them. 

The cost for this event is $10.00 per person & includes program materials & park admission. Proceeds from these programs will be used to purchase butterfly binoculars for HNC visitor use through the generosity of our presenter, Jason Anderson. Online pre-registration is required as space is limited. For questions not answered online please call 712-545-3283, reservations will not be taken over the phone.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Guests may cancel their reservation for a full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the program date by calling 712-545-3283 & speaking with staff directly. Cancellations made less than 1 week (7 days) in advance of the program date will not be refunded. Programs cancelled by PCC for any reason will be refunded.​

This event is not pet friendly, please leave your dogs at home. Service animals are always welcome. Weather Permitting.
