Beginning Birding with Nic Salick 2019

Join experienced birder Nic Salick for a beginning birding class Saturday, May 22nd beginning at 7:30 a.m. Beginning Birding is designed to help novice birders develop new skills & is open to participants ages 12 and up.
This program will include a classroom and field session and will provide the knowledge and skills for amateur and beginning birders to accurately identify common and notable species found throughout the Midwest. Learn to identify song birds and passerines from field marks, song and behavior at Hitchcock Nature Center.
This program can accommodate people of all experience levels but is intended for beginning birders with limited or no field experience. Attendees should plan to bring binoculars or scopes to use in class. Some binoculars will be available to use for the day. Please note the field portion of this program will involve pedestrian travel over Loess Hills terrain which may be difficult at times.
The fee for this program is $10.00 per person. Online pre-registration is required as space is limited. For questions not answered online please 712-545-3283.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Guests may cancel their reservation for a full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the program date by calling 712-545-3283 & speaking to staff directly. Cancellations made less than 1 week (7 days) in advance will not be refunded. Program fees for programs cancelled by PCC due to weather or other circumstances will be refunded.
While this event is appropriate for all ages it is not pet friendly. Please leave your canine friends at home. Service animals are always welcome. Please meet at the Loess Hills Lodge at Hitchcock Nature Center. Weather permitting.
